- In May Carole Dibo of Wilmette and Deerfield native Sam Samuelson of Evanston purchased the historic Wilmette Theater from previous owner Richard Stern. Dibo's husband David, who is a real estate developer, heard about the imminent sale of the theater. Dibo, a professional actor for 24 years, is part owner of Acting Studio Chicago, where she works with teen actors. The onwers plan to offer both movies and live programming in the space. First in the stage series is "Schoolhouse Rock Live!" by Theatrebam Chicago, opening Saturday. Saturday's show will begin with a performance by Wilmette resident Chris Karabas & The Kids Table Band.
