- An important develoment in Evanston politics is that H. E. Chandler will be a candidate for alderman in the second ward. That race is to succeed Victor A. Rossbach, whose term is expiring. Chandler is a successful Davis St. merchant. By selecting Chandler as a candidate, the citizens of the second ward are adopting a plan urged by LSN to select officials who reside and work in Evanston. Other aldermanic candidates are: George E. Bowers, 1520 Dempster St., fifth ward, Peter Hummelgaard, Ernest Witsiepe and Henry C. Geimer in the fourth ward. William E. Anderson, who served Evanston and the sixth district in Springfield is a candidate for city treasurer to succeed Charles H. Bartlett, whose term is expiring. George P. Mills is also running for treasurer.
