T h e p r o g r a m that has been p l a n n e d for the m e n w i l l be v a r i e d a n d i n t e r e s t i n g a n d includes r e c r e a t i o n a l activities l e d by B o b T o w n l e y a n d also tours of the c a m p - s i t e and i n s p e c t i o n of the equipment a n d grounds. F o r those w h o l i k e t o fish there w i l l be ample o p p o r t u n i t y to do so a n d the eats w i l l be not the smallest p a r t of the w e e k - e n d p r o g r a m . The m e n w i l l stay in camp till about 10 o ' c l o c k o n S u n d a y m o r n i n g w h e n they w i l l leave for the r e t u r n t r i p to the n o r t h shore. TRAINING T h i s past w e e k - e n d was devoted to t r a i n i n g of S c o u t leaders in the N o r t h S h o r e A r e a c o u n c i l a n d the three n e i g h b o r i n g c o u n c i l s and three separate courses of Scout leader i n s t r u c t i o n were presented to about 60 men f r o m the E v a n s t o n , O a k P a r k , Northwest Suburban, and North S h o r e A r e a c o u n c i l s . P a t r o l s , c a m p i n g under their o w n leadership and w i t h o u t the guidance of the S c o u t m a s t e r o n the camp-site will demonstrate their c a m p i n g a b i l i t y a n d be j u d g e d on a l l of the v a r i o u s points of p a t r o l a n d Scout camping. Field events in S c o u t subjects w i l l test the S c o u t i n g k n o w l e d g e a n d s k i l l s of the p a t r o l members. JAMBOREE T h e time for the t i l i n g of j a m b o r e e a p p l i c a t i o n s is g e t t i n g short and the n a t i o n a l c o u n c i l is a s k i n g t h a t if at a l l possible a p p l i c a t i o n s s h o u l d be filed by M a y 15. A n y Scout w h o is p l a n n i n g t o a t t e n d the j a m b o r e e at W a s h i n g t o n s h o u l d see that his app l i c a t i o n is i n to the Scout office at the v e r y earliest c o n v e n i e n c e .
