Wilmette sustains genuine loss this week in the departure of the Clare C. Hosmer family, 1232 Forest avenue, to make their home in St. Petersburg, Florida, where Mr. Hosmer is engaged in business. Mr. Hosmer spent his boyhood in Wilmette and has been a resident here for the past seven years. He pas always taken a prominent part in community affairs, having been treasurer of Ye Old Towne Folkes club for several years, and serving for four years on the Executive committee of the Wilmette Sunday Evening club, of which he now is treasurer. He has been an active member of the Wilmette Baptist church, having served as a trustee, a deacon, superintendent of the Sunday school, and chairman of the Church Worship department in the past six years. As an architect, Mr. Hosmer has been prominent in architectural circles in Chicago, since 1917. He served for one year as director of the Illinois Society of Architects, and last year was commandeered by them to serve as director of the Chicago Architectural Exhibit at the Art Institute. The catalogue which he" produced in this capacity won such wide recognition in Chicago and in the country at large that he has been again persuaded to handle the exhibition this year. The duties connected with this work will bring Mr. Hosmer back from St. ~etersburg for most of the time durIng the next four months so that his active participation in iocal affairs will not cease until about the first of June. In St. Petersburg, Mr. Hosmer has been established as an architect and in the building and selling of a better type of homes. Mrs. Hosmer has also taken interest in the affairs of her church and the Woman's ociety of the Wilmette community, and is now secretary of the Woman's society of the Wilmette Baptist church.
