April 2, 1926 WILMETTE LIFE 45 BROWN CLUBS IN CONCERT VILLAGE OF WILMETTE NOTICE OF ELECTION ·· At said -election the following questions will be submitted to the voters for their consideration: Shall the territory· contiguous to the Village of Wilmette, Cook County, Illinois, bounded and· de- · scribed as follows, be annexed to said Village of Wilmette, to-wit: That part of Section l'wenty-nine (29) In TC?wnship ( 42) North, Range Thirteen (13) East of the Third Principal Meridan, lying westerly and southerly of the center line of Reinwald Avenue and of Avoca Road, sometimes called Happ Road, and all that part of the east three-quarters (3~) of Section Thirty ( 30) in said Township and Range, lying south and west of the center line of Happ Road, and the west half (Jf2) of the south west quarter (1;4) of said Section Thirty (30), also that · part of Section Thirty-one {31) in said Township and Range, lying · east of the ea~t right-· _ of-way line of the Public Service Company of Northern Illinois, and the Chicago, North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad Company; all that part of the south half ('i2) of Section Twenty~five (25) in Township Forty-two (42) North, Range Twelve (12) East of the Third Principal Meridan, lying east of the thread of the stream of the North Branch of the Chicago River, and all of Section Thirty-two (32) in Township Forty-two ( 42) North, Range Thirteen ( 13) East of the Third Principal Meridan, lying sout~westerly of the center line of Reinwald Avenue. Shall the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Wilm~tte, Cook County, 11linois, establish~ maintain and conduct a supervised recreation system and levy an annual tax to be known as "playground and recreation tax" for the conduct and ·maintenance thereof of not less than one and one-third mills on each dollar of assessed valuation of taxable property within the corporate limits of said Village, all as authorized and provided by an Act entitled~ "An Act to provide f~r the acquisition, equipment, conduct and maintenance .of public playgrounds and recreation centers in and by cities, towns and villages of less than one hundred and fifty thousand inhab- · itants," in force July 1, 1921? Scott of Hubbard Woods is a graduate of Brown university in the class of '90, and was one of the sponsors of the concert given in the Hotel LaSalle ballroom Wednesday by the Brown university Musical clubs under ~he auspices of the Brown Univer sity Club of Chicago and the North Shore. The concert was given following the dinner and preceding the dance. Leon Errol, star of "Louie the 14th" gave a talk. N. U. Golf Team Begins Practice for New Season Northwestern's golf team conference cha.mpions · last spring, has already started practicing for the coming season. Candidates for the squad are working out daily in the gymnasium perfectin g their drives and practicin~ ' putts . Coach Leon Kranz expects the Purple golfers to be as strong this season as last. Three regulars from the championship squad are back again and two experienced golfers are making a hid for the fourth position. Don Heppes will captain the team this vear. Schultz and Larsen who starred last vear, will be regulars again. \filler, · . a sophomore who won last Year's fre shman meet, is a strong candidate for a position. The other oromising candidate is Stearns, a. former Princeton man, who is now eligible for competition. The first meet of the season is with Notre Dame at South Bend, April 24.
