April 1, 1927 WILMETTE LIFE 49 Accident Fatal to Peter J. Schaefer, Wilmette Pioneer Peter ] oseph Schaefer, 64, a native of the former Village of Gross Point died Friday night, March 25, shortt; after he was struck by · an automobile driven hy Matt Thalman , of \Vilmette, ncar the intersection of Ridge and Washington avenues. Mr. Schaefer was crossing Ridge avenue when hit by the machine which was traveling south on Ridge avenue. He was taken to th~ Evanston hospital and di ed within a icw hours. A verdict of acciclental death was returned at an inqu es t held Saturday morning at the Schaefer funeral parlors in Evanston . ~r r. While the proposition is not a contest, the children are nevertheless urged to take advantage of the opportunity and to take their finished articles to the librarv where they will he placed on exhibition.
