Mr. Todd, principal of the Howard school, operated ·the machine, which belongs to the Stolp school. This was the first motion picture ever shown at the aS'.Jembly period as the machine is comparatively new. Th.e picture dealt with agriculture, comparing the primitive implements and the drugery of fanning with the modern conveniences and luxuries. About 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, February 2, two cars met at the intersection of Park and Wilmette avenues. One car, a delivery, belonged to the .. Polly Kleansers" of Evanston. The other, a Ford, belongs to a man in Wilmette, whose name was not gotten by this reporter. The truck was going east on Wilmette avenue and the Ford north on Park. The Ford hit the truck a · solid blow, pushing it along to the northeast corner where one of the village lamp posts is. The lamp post did not break but the whole foundation was uprooted. The first game was played at Howard and Howard won 11 to 8. The second game at Stolp gymnasium was won by Stolp 12 to 10. The game was played overtime 4 ·minutes so that the result would not be a tie. The third game Howard won 14 to 10. They were aU very exciting games and everybody played hard. Stolp school, class 7B, was operated on some time ago for appendicitis. She is now in Florida recuperating. Several letters have been received from her and she says that she is very anxious to get back to Wilmette because she doesn't like the schools down there. She was very popular among her schoolmates and Wf' all appreciate her loyalty to the Wilmette schools. -Jeanne Brashears, 8B Like Educational Filma Beat, Say Our Children Tuesday in our assembly period we were shown educational movies of the progress of American farmers. Many pictures 5howed the progress from hard labor to animal labor, aPl later steam labor. The moving picture machine was brought to Stolp by Mr :rood, t~e principal of Howard ,chool: 'The l oke of the Past" is a movie showing the past and the present in fann tools and machines. The cast' is made up of courteous ·fanners who showed how the tools and the machines were used in the past and then in the present way. Stolp enjoyed this movie .very much. They showed their appre7-A GIRL CAGERS WIN ciation by cheering for Mr. Todd. Monday, February 6, 7A-2 girls and -Ch~ter Hanson, 7B Stolp 7B-1 girls basketball teams played. At the end of the first half 7B was left HER BEST PAL with the S'Core of 6 while 7A had 8 My bobby, although it may seem a points. The second half was the hard- funny one, _is playing with my dog. I est We finished up with the score play ball w1th him every day and have of 7B, 10 and 7A, 16. We defeated 7C lots of fun. They defeated all the sixth grade first and second teams in Stolp school and defeated Howard school twice.
