EVANSTON'S LARGEST AND FINEST HOTEL Continuing a custom obtaining for several years, the Harvey, Winois, and Wilmette public school championship basketball teams wiD clash ·h ere tomorrow in the first of an inter-city basketball series. The first game between the Harvey and Wilmette lightweight teams will be played at 7:15 o'clock tomorrow evening at Howard s1:hool gymnasium. The heavyweight teams will play immediately following the · lightweight game. With the exception of last year, the inter-series has been played each year since 1922 at the close of the regular basketball season. L. P. Holm of Harvey and Lowell F. Todd, principal of the Howard school, instituted the inter-change of games. A modest admission fee will be charged for tomorrow evening's games to procure funds for the expenses of the Wilmette team when they play the return games at Harvey the following week. The probable lineup for the Wilmette lightweights will be Frank Church, Colin Finlayson, forwards ; Cecil Williams, center; George Eber, Hugh Saxon and Alfred Zibble, guards. Dudley C. Stone, instructor of physical education at the Byron C. Stolp school and a member of the Wilmette Playground and Recreation staff, is the lightweight coach, and Glen W. Gathercoal, also of the Recreation staff, is the heavyweight ~oach. The players for the Wilmette heavies will be Cly,de Warble, Lawrence McHale. Robert Waters. forwards ; Leonard Wolff, William Larlee, centers ; Ray Kimball. George Quinlan, Paul Potter, and Albert Lind. guards. The games are sponsored by the Wilmette Playground and Recreation board. and according to Daniel M. Davis. director of Recreation. an attempt will be made to continue the .;eries as an annual event. Bridle Path on Canal Banks Already in Use The public is cordially invited to attend the First · Annual Exhibition of the Evanston. .North Shore Association of Architects to be held from March Nineteenth to March Twenty - fourth,. inclusive, at The Homestead Hotel, 1 6 2 5 Hinman Avenue, Evanston. There will be shown at this time a display of drawings and photographs of homes and buildings designed by members of the Association. The bows ar~ from 9:30 A. M. to 8:30 P. M. daily. The new bridle path following along the banks of the North Shore canal is now practically complete and is announced as open to the public for use. Already a few riders have tried the path, and as the weather becomes more suitable it is expected to become one of the notable paths in this vicinity. It is finished now from West Railroad avenue south, first on one side of the canal and then the other, to Foster avenue, and the stretch from Foster to Lawrence is expected to be completed soon. This makes a six-mile path, for which protecting fences are now being built. The land bordering the path , is to be landscaped this spring as part of the beautification of the Sanitary district property. Fences are now being built along the path where the ditches are deep, and every means is being taken to protect the riders at street intersections.
