Rudolph lngerle's painting "Landscape" was accepted as was Allen Philbrick's "Beech Woods." The paintings are to be on view from May to ] une 1, at tbe Galleries, 220 North Michigan avenue. The Chicago Galleries a$sociation is a co-operative organization of laymen and artists, organized to exhibit and sell the works of a~t of its artist members. This year the association is planning to put into practice a new plan-the Home Circulating Gallery. Each member of this Circulating Gallery is entitled to take one of, the pictures home to keep for a period of thirty days, af.t er which the picture is returned, and another one taken out. The privilege of having twelve fine pictures in the home during the year is made possible at a modest cost. Miss Frances Howard of 1539 Wilmette avenue has been sent as a delegate from the University of Illinois to the convention of the League of Women Voters at the Congress hotel this week. -oMrs. E. H. Glencoe Pia·ist . .Wim Mu&icitlns' Society Contest Miss Pauline Manchester of Glencoe, a pupil .o f Howard Welles, ws the winner in the final contest under the ~uspices of ·the Society of Amer:.: · ican Musicians in co-operation with the Cable Piano company, which was held in Fullerton hall at the Chicago Art Istitute on Wednesday evening, April 19. There were thirty-two entrants in the contest and elimination contests had been held two weeks previous to the final contest. The prize is . two-fold. The Cable people awarded her a Mason and Hamlin grand piano and the Society of American Musicians will sponsor a debut recital for her in Chicago in about three weeks. Miss Manchester is a Kappa Delta at Northwestern but finds time to take charge of the singing and rhythm classes in the Montessori school in Winnetka. Her private piano class includes pupils from Evanston to Glencoe.
