He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank \Vatt of 338 Melrose a\-enue, Kenilworth. When Mr. Watt was thirteen years old he won · the honor of Eagle Scout, being the first Kenilworth Scout to achieve that distinction. He was president of his class when he graduated from the Joseph Sears school of Kenilworth in 1924. This last year, when he graduated from New Trier High school, Mr. \Vatt was president of the senior class. Chief Walter Zibble, of the Wilmette · fire department, returned last Friday from Champaign, Ill., where he had p-one to ' attend the four day school of instruction for fire · chiefs of Illinois. About 350 fire chiefs, representing most of the communities of the 3tate, were present for the sessions of the school which was also attended by fire chiefs from other states, by officials of fire prevention org~nization s and in surance companies, and by other notable,;. E. J. :McGurn, dr~llmaster of the Chicago fire department, took a squad of men to Champaign to give instructions and drills in the new training tower built especially for that purpose by the state of Illinois. First aid demon strations and other instructions helpful to fire chiefs were also given. Thi.; is the fourth year that th ~ school of instruction for fire chiefs has been held in Illinois. This school was the first of its kind in the. country, and other states have followed the lead of Illinois. Indiana held its first school for fire chiefs this year. Such a .school of instruction is very helpful. according to Chief Zibble, who states that fire chiefs in small communitie s may thus learn much about fire fighting which they \\·ould otherwise not know. · ~Irs. Fred L. Murray was entertained Tuesday afternoon at a birthdav luncheon at the Hearthstone Tea room. Her hostesses were Mrs. Edward S. Lawson, Mrs. Edwin B. Knudtson. Mrs. John Brashears, Mrs. Fred L. ·Rice, and Mrs. William B. Page.
