Once I went. up and I got a swing and then my brother came up and we had jumping to see who coulu wm. -Lionel, Third Grade LEARN HOW TO SWIM At the beach there is a lady vho teaches us free swimming lessons in the water and I am learning from the teacher and she help3 me. THE SEAFIGHT (original story) One summer . evening we were sa il ing along smoothly when the sailor in the lookout ca1led__to us and said that he spied three Pirate ships quite near . The captain called hi s men togeth er and told them to take their posts. When all were readv we could see that the Pirate sh ip s- had got closer and we could see that their men outnumbered us two to one. So we waited till the cloc k in the cabin struck ten , then we started to fire. Soon our bigge st gun was put out of order, leaving five in use and we soon <_liscovered a leak in the boat hut we had di .;covered it in time to stop it before much water got in. \Ve still put up a good fi !!ht which la sted till 12 o'clock and bv- that time we were pretty. wrfcked. But the pirate ships gave up because they had had enough so they surrendered and in a few davs we reached land where our boat \\:as repaired. .:_Donald Campbell MOSTLY FOR STUDY vVe are in summer school to learn better.
