They traveled in all 8,000 miles by motor and rail. Ten teams have already announced their intentions of entering the Northern Illinois Basketba:tl tournament (New Trier district) in the Leslie F. Gates gymnasium at New Trier High school Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, March 7, 8, and 9. The tournament is the first of its kind ever held ·at New Trier, and elaborate preparations are being made for the entertainment of the visiting teams. A faculty committee is working on plans for the event, and letters have been written to coaches and principals inviting schools of the district to enter the tournament and asking them .for the names of all visiting team members, coaches, and faculty members. The Girls' club of New Trier High school will publish a souvenir program for the tournament. Teams entered thus far are: Waukegan, ·Libertyville, Palatine, Arlington Heights, Wauconda, Lake Zurich.! Antioch, Des Plaines, Gurnee (Warren township,) and New Trier. The comparative strength of a majority of these teams is not known, as most of them play in a different circuit from New Trier. Antioch is reorganized as likely to cause trouble for ( ther entrants. and Waukegan, conqueror of New Trier in a recent hard fought contest, is another strong team. -oMrs. Carl Edginton Widney and her little son, Carl, now of 956 Sheridan road, Winnetka, formet:ly of Wilmette, are spending two months in California.
