Btckham. · · The Kenilworth League of Women Voters held a meeting Wednesday afternoon, March 20 at the Kenilworth Club. roo.ms. This proved ·to be one of the most enthusiastic ~nd interesting meetings this league has enjoyed. Mrs. Laura Hughes Lunde spoke on "The New Patriotism" and she wa s such a charming and well inform ed speaker, her talk was a real inspiration. One of her opening statemef1ts was to the . effect that patriotism no longer meant a sort of flourish with a flag and a "wordy" speech, but that patriotism meant intelligent citizenship and intelligent service to one's country. The League of Women Voters offers instruction in citizenship. This past month the league has held schools for citizenship at Springfield and other schools are planned for the weeks to come. If anyone is interested, she may get information by calling the League of Women Voters in Chicago. Thes e schools have become so popular that a limit has been placed on the number attending from the various local leagues. They are designed to show the mem bers the various step s in law making. Those attending the schools interviewed their state. representatives on the two legislatiYe measures sponsored by the League of \i\' omen Voters-the eligibility of women on juries. and the office-group form of ballot. Lamb, 115 Woodbine avenue, \Vilmette, received '"ord last Thursday of the death of her youngest brother, Robert M. Nelson. who was killed in a wreck on the Canadiah National railway, which occurred in the wilderne'3S of Ontario. and in which twenty persons lost their lives. The accident occured on Mr. Nelson's twenty-fourth birthday, and the news was received by. Mrs. Lamb on her wedding anniversary. Mr. Nelson had been secretary to his father, Congres'3man John M. Nelson of Madison, Wis., but had left Washington with his brother, Harolcl, for Alberta where Mr. Nelson owns a large wheat farm. Robert Bjork, son of Mr. and Mrs. David T.
