12 WILMETTE LIFE May 31, 1929 iJVo Finer Wedding Gift Titan An Many Wilmette Children in Chorus at Festival More than one hundred eighth grade children of the Wilmette Public schools witt take part tomorrow after-noon in the North Shore Music festival being held at Evanston this week. The Wilmette , eighth graders will make up part of a: group of sixteen hundred school children of this section who are to ' be featured on · the Saturday afternoon program. They will sing "Dryad's Kisses," by W. Otto Meissner. The Wilmette singers who are to take part in the concert have been trained by Mrs. Agnes Clark and Mrs. Stella Maher. ON VACATION IN WEST Mrs. Rutheda Weber, assistant in the Wilmette Public library, will leave for a month's vacation this Saturday, June 1. Mrs. Weber and her husband plan to spend the first two weeks of the vacation with friends near \Vhitehall, Mont. Miss Ethel Elliott, sister of A. ]. Elliott, 824 Ashland avenue, returned to her home in Kankakee, Ill., after being the week-end guest of the Elliotts. ORIENTAL RUG St. Mary's ·Grads Include Several Wilmette Students , Wilmette is well represented among the graduates of St. Mary's college and St. Mary's Academy, Notre Dame, Ind. Miss Katherine Butler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Butler, 630 Linden avenue, is receiving her A. B. degree, while her sister, Jessie Lou Butler, is being graduated from the Academy. Miss Hillis Krafthefer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Krafthefer of 901 Oakwood avenue is being graduated from the college with a B. S. degree. Miss Krafthefer and the Misses Butler, in addition to their excellent scholastic record, have been outstanding in athletics during their years at St. Mary's. Other Academic graduates from Wilmette are the Misses Wilma and Geraldine Harvey, daughters of Me. and Mrs. Frank W. Harvey, Jr., 1035 Greenwood avenue. Besides being prominent in athletics and all extracurricular activities, they stand in the highest scholastic ,group. Miss Geral-. dine Harvey has been editor-in-chief of "The Marionette," the academic news publication. Miss Mary Virginia Draper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Draper, 850 Greenleaf avenue, a recent resident of Wilmette, is also being graduated from the.academy. M~ss Dorothy Stover, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stover, of Hubbard Woods, and a number of Chicago girls are likewise members of the 1929 class. The academic commencement will take place Monday night, June 3, and the college commencement, Wednesday morning, June 5.
