For a number of years the Joseph Sears school has won national honors among grade schools for selling the seals. Last year the Kenilworth pupils sold 125,000 seals, bringing in a total of $1,250, and thev are out to beat that record this year. Every family in the village is solicited. The Christmas seal sale in Kenilworth began the day after Thanksgiving. "Shawnee Players," und~r the direction of Miss Dorothy Proesch of Evanston is presenting two one-act plays, "Rich Man, Poor .Man," by Bertha Burnll, and "Half an Hour," by James Barrie, and. in addition, a short musical sketch featuring the theme songs of popular musical comedies. Last year the club gave a dramatic performance of high order under Miss Proesch's direction, and the plays this week are eagerly anticipated. All club members interested in dramatics have been asked to communicate with ~{iss Proesch. The first of the inter-class basketbalt games was played last Wednesday in Ma1linckrodt High school gymnasium between the Seniors and the Juniors. It resulted with a score of 18 to 14 in favor of the Seniors. Townley athletic director at the Joseph Sears school in Kenilworth, took a large group of Junior Hikers on a hike to Camp Howell, two and a half miles west of Glencoe, last Friday night and Saturday. Billy Scott, Val Smith, Jack Mervis, George Jones, Paul Cornell, Charles Bemis, Vernon Faulstick, John Sprenger, John Weese, Bob McCloud, David Skillen, Bill Stebbins and Woodward Anderson-went on the overnight hike . They skated on the north branch of the Chicago river and enjoyed a game of war. On Saturday morning fifty other boys went out to the camp. A squirrel hunt, game of war, treasure hunt and skating were included in the day's activiti<t. Each boy brought something along to eat and cooked his own meal.
