Play, "Why Chimes Rang" Why the Chimes Rang," a · Christmas play written by Elizabeth McFadden from the story by Raymond MacDonald, was presented by pupils of the ·Stolp school for their parents last evening in the Stolp gymnasium. Jack Slayton played the part of Uncle Berte], Billie Bowen was Holger, a peasant boy, Don Toeppen was Bolger's younger brother, Steen, Mary Hvid portrayed the old woman, and Esther Morgan took the part of the angel. Characters in the pantomime were: Sheldon Fox, pnest; Billy Culver and Billy Condy, altar boys; Locke Rogers, rich man; John Adams, courtier; Juliette Rusnak, beautiful woman;· Warren Cozzens, scholar; Barbara Bull, lovely girl, and Ray Warren, the king.
