The accident occurred New Year's night about 10 :~5 o'clock on Lake avenue between Creeiev annu e and Illinois road. As he wa s pa sing another automobile going in the sa me direction at a slow rate of speed the police car skidded on the ic y pavement, striking the other machine and turning over on its left side.
