Golf Club Ileads Wilmette Permit List iJanuary Eight building permits were issued in Wilmette this month up to Tuesday, January 27, and the> total estimated. cost of building construction' wbich these permits authorizes is $53,134. This amount is $15,000 less than the corresponding figure for December, 1930, but considerably more than that for January of last year. In January, 1930, permits were issued for building activity which totaled only $12,915. The largest permit this month was taken ou3t by the Winette Golf Club, which is building a $35,000 locker room and pro shop addition to replace a por- tion of the clubhouse which was de- stroyed by fire last Thanksgiving day. .The next largest permit was issued to joseph Braun to erect a $10,000 brick veneer residence at 1945 Thorn- wood avenue. Another residence, of f rame-brick veneer construction, to be, buiit for Charles Knobel at 110 Prairie avenue, will cost $5,000.
