A graduate of Lewis institute, Mr. Hettich became associated with his uncle, the late William Scheidel, iu the manufacture of scientific devices2 .nearly thîrty years ago. He was the in- ventor of the leakage transformer as applied to X-ray use, and was awarded the gold medal of the Radiological Society'of North America for this in- vention. Mr. Hettick was aà member of .tbe old Quilmette Country .club. He bad lived in Wilmette for'tbe past, twelve years and. was interestediin the civic, affairs of tbe, village. He was a.mem- ber of tbe -Lake Shore Atbletic club in Chicago and was a promninent Mason, bcing a member o f Lakeview lodge No. 774. A. F. and A. M.,.in Chicago, as well as of the Medinab templeoShrine, the *Consistory and the Scottish Rite order.. He was also president of the New Trier Republican cominittee. Survivinig him are bis mother,. Mrs.i Hermina H-retich of Wilmiette, a1 daughter, Mrs. Rosella H. Albert, w'if e1 a brother August of Chicago, and two sisters, Mrs. Elsie von der Lippen of WVilmette and Mrs. Alberta D. Irwin of Chicago. *Masonic funeral services were held at Mr. Hettich's late residence, 1011 Central avenue, Tuesday afternoon at 2f o clock. Burial took place at Rosehill« cernetery.
