Mr. Moore. Several Proposai. The agreement, which is for a pe- riod of three years, represents 'the outgrowth of several proposais, it is stated. Shortiy after Bishop Stew- art's appointment to, the bishopric and bis resignation as rector of St. Luke's, the vestry 'of the Evansto n church proposed that it.be, made the pro-cathedrai.. This offer was de- ciined by- Bishop Stewart and, later, Dr. Charies Eilridge McAllister was elected rector. After the resignation of Dr. McAllister last May, the offer was again advanced to the bishop and has been under consideration since. *The parochiai status of St. Luke's will. remnain -unchariged under the agieementi, it. is stated. Likewise, the Cathedrai chapter of the diocese will continuie to deveiop plans for the erectione of :a cathedral. The agree-' ment, which1 may, be canceied by. the bishop on six months' notice, be- cornes effective at once.
