Mrs. 'Felix foldenweck -aim-ss Jane Phil- brick, the two judges, found so many things to interest themi that theybad a difficui.t timeto choose the niany prize winners. Mrs. Haàhn's pupils bad Iearned how. to, make armatures for their sculpturing this. year, and, their, exhibit of figures of littie girls displayed this principle clear- ly. These pupils also showed charming littie figures of animais, and a finely modeled humait hand.. Mrs., johanisen s and Mrs. Degenhardt's chil- dren worked in.many niediums, in water color, in vil paint*s, in Clay, in poster paint, and in crayon. Their Indian figures with papier-maché masIks were an entire project in theniselves. They studied Indian customs and Indian design, and in~the eixeeuing -of the figures -Iearned tWi~use of poster paints. A few of the simple theories of combining colors were taught the children who expressed a desire to use oul paints, and in the water color work the class carried out. the plan of composi- tion ini filling a page. Sonie of the most talented work dispiayed was that of the three Degenhardt children-Rosa- mond, Paula- and -Diana-who received- special [Ist- and' esses Mrs; I-H. E. White, Mis. J. G.'
