The document belongs to Miss Jeanne Taggart of Minmette. it -is a commission issued to Samuel Tag- gart,. father of Miss Taggat and Mrs. Pl' A. Wilson, making -hlm as- sistant, adjutant general of volun,- teers,. with rank- of captaint,, in the Union army, in 1864. The frame, in which the document, is kept bas an. interesting history, also. It was made by a Swiss wood~ carver. Oak leaves are carved upon the frame. The- acorns on the right side have corne from the "Char- ter Oak" in Connecticut. At the bot- tom is the United States shield.
