The electric railroad track is about 12 to ll} inches below the surface of the street all along in front of the railway depot grades. It will have to be bridged with a drop or swing bridge, or fenced in on both sides, and how foot passengers will get across we don’t know, unless steps are built down to the track on either side, about two steps doWn. This is a wonderful age of improvements. Just after the above was in type a new light struck the authorities of the road and the track was raised to the old street level, being filled un- der it more than a foot in some places. This will save cutting down the street from 12 to 30 inches when we come to pave it.
