Wilson of Highwoml com- _, mitted suicide Sunday morning by ‘ shooting herself. She wrote a let.- ter to her father and family and left i it with one of her neighbors, Mrs. Lockard. telling them why she com mitted the deed, and asked their forgiveness in advance. She lived about half an hour after the shoot- ing. and talked some with the phy- sician and others, telling them why she did it. She was a daughter of S. G. Enmark of Lake Forest. The funeral was Tuesday and the inter. ment in Lake. Forest. John Hart, the gate~man, feels as big as anybody can, up in his sky parlor pumping house. [tdoes not impress our people as a wise move, and scores of West side parents are already scared badly. for fear their little ones will get killed. and they all want City Marshal She-alien to stand on the crossing and watch them. But of course he can't watch the Northwestern tracks all day. Ex‘Supervisor A. W. Waldo, of Libertyville, called on us Tuesday to talk overstate and county politics. He thinks Gov. John R. Tanner might be worse, which is great faith in John R’s possibilities. He further thinks our young Congressman Foss is being misled as to Libertyville politics. We shall be sorry if that proves true, for we don't want our friend Foss to make any mistakes. We are opposed to allowing these Chicago fellows to come out here and bid off all the jobs of sidewalk, residence and other buildings in the city. Perhaps our folks can't bid as cheap for the“ job. and we opine they would not do as “cheap" jobs as some done by Chicago men. The electric railroad folks' new 250 or 300 horsepower engine. a compound automatic Westinghouse. claimed folk? fliédwliést high speed machine made is here and leing put into the Electric Light compa‘ ny’s shop. The foundations will be solid brick laid. in cement, filling full a pit (5x8x18 feet. and will be solid as the earth itself. Ex-City marshal (ieorge Elvey has been helping the policejudge rebuild his sidewalk and fu')t-bridge over the ravine, and “George" knows how to handle tools, and he has a heap of common sense about how to do wurk too, and that is much. THE HIGHLAND PARK NEWS A youl’lg non of Joseph Rioux brake his elbow Sunday. He fell from a bicycle which he was learning to tide. Mrs. Leach of Chicago. has been spending a few days with friends here. LOCAL ITEMS. Hot Rolls and Bread Delivered for Breakfast.
