Wearenotalittle pained and a good deal chagrined to find that one of our aldermen 'ia circulating the story around town that in the recent caaeol the City against the “blind pig" Judge Hibbard dismissed the case when the mayor and city attor- ney were trying to push the prosecu~ tion. There are a good many people in Highland Park who, not having yet reached the position of alderman. nevertheless know perfectly well that the statement circulated by this par- ticular alderman ia not only on the face of it false, but is absolutely ri- diculous. In other words, that the police magistrate is powerless to dis rnias such a case if the city attorney persistsâ€"in prosecuting it. As it stands the alderman is not only making himself a little ridiculous in the eyes of his intelligent constitn~ euts, but he re reflecting upon the citv attorney and the mayor, and we advise the city attorney for his own reputation to see the alderman right away and hush the matter up. Fred’s are absolutely pure and that which we sampled was as delecious as any ever tasted. His first success has in- dueed him to make preparations for manufacturing on a more extended scale and. we expect soon to describe his “factory” in good style. Mr. Hogan said he went to their convention to nee a horse in Libertyville, and he saw several others over there, delegates and otherwise, who had each to him- self a whole "pony".
