The subject under discussion was “Late Colonial and Early Re- publican Wit and Humor," the lead- er, Hrs. Frank Clark. As Mrs. Clark failed to find much wit and humor among the people of the colonial period, she was equal to the emergency and supplied the de- ficiency herself. Other papers were read by Mrs. Feaeenden and Mrs. Qlareuee Gail. The subject had men thoroughly studied by the ladies, and all enjoyed the fruits of their-labor. E. C. DICKINSON'S ENTERPRISE.
