Next winter the food supply will probably be short. l Write at once and you will be advised at the earliest possible moment what land is available. RESIDENT WILSON, Secretary of Agriculture Houston, Governor Lowden and others in authority have appealed to the American people to plant every foot of available ground for foodstuffs during this year. Now that we are at war, we will have to help feed our allies and we will soon be sending food across the Atlantic to our own army. There 1s at the pres- ent time a large shortage 1n the food fsupply of the world, and it is our duty to plant every acre of ground this year with some kind of grain or vegetable. Highland Park must do its share. It is important that the supply of vegetables that will keep through the Winter, such as potatoes, carrots, beets, turnips, beans etc, be increased.
