In matters of public welfare. some one individual is usually consecrated to the idea and thus becomes associated in the minds of the people with its realization The idea of a hospital within our city has been advocated for many years. but it required leader- ship some one who had initiative to conceive and organize a pro- gram of activities and set the thing in motion. That person was our esteemed fellow-citizen. the late Walter C Hately, who want- ed to do something.r for Highland Park in his characteristic quite Dower t1 â€â€˜9 wlliHL†them liqu 1nd (in SHHH way, and without thought of becoming identiï¬ed with the un- dertaking. Nevertheless. as we saw the hospital before us last Sunday an accomplished fact, and as we think of it now, equip- ped and ready for long years of ministration in its ’own peculiar province of mercy. we ï¬nd ourselves associating it with the kind- ly genial spirit of Walter C. Hately, and it will live as a ï¬tting monument to his memory. INHIHR It is not our province to mention all the men and women who have worked to secure this institution for Highland Park. but we would be remiss if we failed to acknowledge our debt to Mayor Hastings whose unfailing interest and sustained effort. in spite of modest disclaimers, will embody themselves in this hospital, and remain a living record. in the calendar of an al- ready notable administration. zlleflc=OD 9' \‘Ut'h :m \ H‘n‘Ht rho saum -\T â€It You may be sure your account-«whether large or ‘ small-«will be welcome here; and we assure you service of the most satisfactory sort and allow 3 % per JOHN A keeping without charge to you.
