In the triangular park between the station and hall a fountain ur statue is planned. The buildings on vach side of the hull will he made to Conform architec- tunlly with the municipal structure. Directly east of the union station the business block will be rebuilt to harmonize with the village plan and in the center of the block will be the puslomco. The present buildings are to he sent bark fifty-ï¬ve feet. Back of them will be a space for garages. Winnotka now has about ninety- ï¬vo acres devoted to parks. With the additions planned the total would be 120 or an acre for each 100 resi~ dents. based on a population of 13,000. This proportion is considered satisfactory in view of the proposed Sknkic preserve and eventual lake shore improvements. Although the forest preserve dis- trict has not made a deï¬nite state- ment regarding acquisition of Skokie property, the Winnetka plan shows . “proposed forest preserve†running from the south to the north villnge limits and extending from the North- western cutot’f east and connecting with the present parks. ing, and a shore drive it the foot of the blufl’s east of Sheridan road.
