Public Service Company of Northern Illinois THE HIGHLAND PARK PRESS. HIGHLAND PARK. lLLINOlb Tryouts for'the coming debate with La Grange high school were held in the assembly hall on Friday morning. Inasmuch as the time was limited each contestant was given two min- utos in which to make a five minute speech. In spite of this fact several good speeches were made. The Deerfield bantamweights mode their initial appearance Friday against, Morton. They were easily defeated by the Morton team, due to the fact that they organized two days before the game. The lightweights playing their us- ual style 'of ball easily defeated their upponents. They played a fast game from start to finish and at-no time did they show signs of weakening. I ORCHESTRA HALL é BURTON? HOLMES The heavies, handicapped by the absence- of Ritta, put up a good fight but were unable to Win their game. At the end of the first half the score stood Morton 5 and Deerfield *3. It was not until the fourth quarter that Morton was able to get enough points to decide the game. In the final per- ind they managed to run away from the local team. Th0 next games will be played with Riversidv at tlw hivh school on Fri- day evening at seven thirty.
