Age 94; born in Weir MS to Frank and Kathryn Black Barton; graduated from Mississippi State College in 1940 with Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering; commissioned as Second Lieutenant in 1941 through ROTC Program, served in Philippine Islands, became POW when Corregidor fell on May 6, 1942, sent to Mukden, Manchuria until Liberation Day on August 20, 1945; retired from Underwriters Laboratories as Senior Vice-President in 1985; longtime member and former trustee of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights IL; preceded in death by his wife, Jane, his mother and stepfather, David Glass, and his sister, Jean Barton Parker - Date of Publication
