Age 76; resident since December 1989 of Manor Care Health Services in Skokie IL; born in Holland MI and grew up on Chicago's South Side; graduated from Morgan Park Military Academy in 1940, degree from Northwestern U. in chemical engineering; married on September 8, 1944 in Seattle; 1943-46 sonar officer aboard mine sweeper USS Strategy around Iwo Jima, Okinawa and Japan, attained rank of Lieutenant Junior grade; 1948 law degree from Northwestern U., served on law review and member of Order of the Coif; 34 years with law firm Peterson & Ross, became chief appellate partner; 1960s served 18 years on Glenview's Zoning Board of Appeals (16 years as chairman); retired from active practice after 1982 stroke - Date of Publication
