Austin Mattock; graduated with B.Sc. degree in Engineering from Halifax Technical College in 1945; worked for Lancashire County surveyor's Department from 1945-47; attended Imperial College of London U. on Royal scholarship award, graduated in 1947 with M.Sc. in engineering; married on August 20, 1949 at St. James's Spanish Place, London; lecturer in civil engineering at Imperial College in 1952, Ph.D. in 1955; moved to Glenview IL in 1957, directed research team at Chicago headquarters of Portland Cement Association; moved to Seattle in 1964, full professor at U. of Washington; lived in Lake Forest Park for 31 years, later in Woodinville, moved to Issaquah in 2003
