Age 90; resident of Northbrook IL; born in Tulsa OK to Shirley Cole and Joseph McCrary McCune and grew up in Kansas City MO; graduate of Pembroke Country Day School, BS with honors from Sheffield Scientific School of Yale U. in New Haven CT, member of Vernon Hall, Berkley College and affiliated with Phi Gamma Delta fraternity; during WWII joined U.S. Navy, rose to rank of Lieutenant Commander on submarine USS Haddo, served 4 years in Pacific Theater, 1945 in Tokyo Bay when General Douglas MacArthur accepted Japanese surrender on battleship Missouri, remained active as retired naval officer; married in Hamilton OH on July 27, 1951, moved to Atlanta GA, 1962 moved to Northbrook IL; 31 years held marketing positions at Owens Illinois, 7 years at Royal Crown Cola, 1985 retired; preceded in death by his sister, Bettie Cole Ivy
