This annual cuting is arranged by the Highland Park Business 'E::n’l association and is always an event of much interest and pleasure t§ those participating. Mr. ‘Walz was born in Fredricksâ€" hafen, Germany, and came to this country in 1882, shortly afterward enâ€" listing in the U. 8. Regular Army. He was ‘stati at Fort Russell and was brought to Fort Sheridan with his re nt during the famous car strike in Chicago many years ago. He was in the gervice in all about 30 years and was honorably discharged. He was drawing a pension, was emâ€"« ployed as gateman by the railroad and had money in the bank, so that there were no financial worries. There was no other indication of any motive for ‘suicide, so that possibility was dismissed by the coroner‘s jury.
