This meeting is held in response to a frequently expressed desire for an organization suited to the older young people.of Highland Park, marâ€" ried and unmarried. The question of further activities is being left open for suggestions from all attending next Sunday evening. ; Some have asked for a discussion group, a forum: which would consider prmxt day problems. Others have asked for a social club. â€" It is not impossible to combine intellectual and recreational pursuits; weekly discussions might be interspersed with ice cream socials. â€"~The firstâ€"meeting of a social club for young people above the high school age will be held at the parish house of the Presbyterian church Sunâ€" day evening at sevenâ€"thirty. After the following program, refreshments will be served and plans for a permanent organization . discussed. . Chairman, Miss Elizabeth Bredin; 4 ho. All young people are cordially inâ€" vited to present their views at‘ the parish house Sunday evening. : Selected Readings GRAEME PLAYERS TO APPEAR AT HIGHWOOD Open Sat., Nov. 28 in "Cappy Ricks," and Will Play Every , Saturday Evening ; | PLAN OPEN FORUM AT: "Cappy Ricks," Peter B. It will be presented at the Bartâ€" lett theatre exactly as it was in New York and Chicago. In endeavoring to offer the theatre goers of the North Shore something new and entertaining in the way of amusement, W. W. Bartlett, propriâ€" etdr of the theatre has ‘contracted with the Graeme Players to present a new play every Saturday evening. Joe Driscoll of Highland Park closed the deal. mt : Social Club to Be Organized for Young People; Meéets Sunâ€" _ day Evening at 7:30 The Graeme Players company is the most successful repertoire organâ€" ization in Chicago, and is under the personal supervision of Sigrid Graeme who has directed many of America‘s play hits. j In‘ order to accomodate the hunâ€" dreds who‘will want to attend these unusual Saturday evening performâ€" ances, two complete shows will be given. .The first starts at 7 p. m. and the second at 8:40 p. m. Continue Work Started by Visitâ€" ing Nurse : Association; â€"Held Every Thursday A "Baby Clinic‘ under the auspices of the Woman‘s Auxiliary of the Highland Park hospital is being held at the Highland Park hospital every Thursday afternoon at. three o‘clock. This, clinic is for sabies under two years and is a continuation of the work which was done at the City hall under the Visiting Nurse association, BABY CLINIC TO BE HELD AT HOSPITAL A word of explanation seems necâ€" essary as to "Why the Clinic." For many years the city nurse, Mrs. Falâ€" ley, has had a class at the City hall where babies were weighed and talks given on diet and care. The clinic at the hospital is a step forward as there is now‘ not only the nurse, but a doctor and {several assistants in charge. A 1j , Preventive medicine is the great development of the time and it is the purpose of this clinic to instruct the mothers in the care and feeding of their children, thereby saving them from many diseases such as wrickets and pneumonia, etc. j There are two important things to know in connection with the clinic. First, no sick child may be brought. Second, no parent who can afford the advice of a physician is experted to take a child to this clinic. It is to help those who would send for a docâ€" tor in case of illness but cannot afâ€" ford to consult a physician for guidâ€" ance in feeding. It is hoped mothers from surroundâ€" ing towns will take advantage of the clinic and bring their babies for inâ€" spection and help. The Highland Park hospital has one great ambition, to serve the public in every possible way, and this baby clinic with the dental clinic is part of its social servâ€" ice work. ? __Every Thursday afternoon at three o‘clock. No charge is made. The firemen had two calls this week, oneâ€" to the north end of town on Tuesâ€" day, where ‘they put out a grass fire; and the other about 10 o‘clock Tuesâ€" da{ night, to the house owned by Mrs. Julia Donsing, corner Lincoln and St. Johns, where some rags had ‘caught fire behind a radiator. There was conâ€" siderable smoke but little fire damage, the . firemen report. : : FIREMEN PUT OUT TWO FIRES TUESDAY THE HIGHLAND PARK PRESS, HIGHLAND PARK,â€" John Wesley Heaton .Miss Edith Phillips is the great B.
