Cecelia Hansen, violinist, who will give the second concert, is sometimes called the greatest woman violinist of today. Guiomar Novaes, pianist, who has been called the greatest woman pianist of the present, appears on the third program. The remarkable Engâ€" lish ensemble singers, brought to this country by Mrs. F. S. Coolidge to apâ€" pear in her Library of Congréss Fesâ€" tival in Washington last spring, will give the fourth concert. And Maria Kurenko, Russian soprano, famous for her voice and famous as a lawyer, will complete the series. In 1924 Mrs. Roland Whitman, who was president, conceived the idea of the artist recital series, considered one of the most outstanding accomâ€" plishments of the club. The Winnetka Music club, the orâ€" ganization ~that has sponsored the artist recital series at New Trier audâ€" itorium, bringing to the north shore such famous artists at Mme. Louise Homer, Gabrilowitch, Edward Johnâ€" son, Brailowsky, Giannini and many others, has completed its eleventh year of active work. Founded in 1915 by Mrs. Edwin Snell, with ‘a membership of seven, this club has steadily gone ahead with its good purpose, of bringing pleasâ€" ure and benefit to itseaf jand the community.
