His rector says of him, "I never knew so constant an attendâ€" ant on church as Washington, and _ The men of Trinity parish will hold this dinner on his birthday in comâ€" memoration of the father of our counâ€" try The Lessonâ€"Sermon also included the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scripâ€" tures," by Mary Baker Eddy: "The senses of Spirit abide in Love, and they demonstrate Truth and Life. Hence Christianity and the Science which expounds it are based on spiritâ€" vual understanding, and they superâ€" sede the soâ€"called laws of matter. Jesus demonstrated this great verity" (p. 274). Among the citations which comâ€" prised the Lessonâ€"Sermon was the following from the Bible: ‘And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place ‘where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upâ€" on me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenheartâ€" ed, to preach deliverance to the capâ€" tives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised" (Luke 4:14, 17â€"18). ‘ The Rector‘s Bible Class \Plans are under way for the formaâ€" tion of an adult Bible class, the first meeting of which will be held Friday, Feb. 25. The rector will give a series of ten lectures which will be followed by discussion. Membership is open to all.
