McQuilien, general secretary of the Highiand Park Y.W.â€" C.A. and Miss Esther Huckins of the Chicago Metropolitan office of the Y.W.C.A. left on Tuesday to attend the Community Conference of the Y.W.C.A to be held at College Camp, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin from August 7 to 17. URGE COâ€"OPERATION ~_ FOR HIGHWOOD DAY at the camp. Miss Laura Cranefield of the Highland Park Y.W.C.A. and Miss Marguerite Creamer of the Lake Forest Y.W.C.A. were camp directors, assisted by Miss Betty Whitney of Chicago who acted as life guard and swimming instructor and Miss Ella Linderholm of Lake Forest who had charge of hand craft. From July 23 to August 2, twenty girls of grade school age from Highâ€" land Park and Lake Forest enjoyed ten days of fun and learning new things at the camp. The program featured land and water sports, handâ€" craft, which proved to be very popâ€" ular, nature study, and special eveâ€" ning programs including a moon light swim, a hay.rack ride and a program which was presented for the campers at Association House Camp. On Friâ€" day, August 3, sixteen members of the Board of Directors of the Highâ€" land Park and Lake Forest Y.W.C.A.‘s were entertained at the camp at a luncheon. At this time a report of the camp was given. On Saturday and Sunday, August 4 and 5 a group of business girls from Highland Park and Lake Forest spent the weekâ€"end Camp Merry Days, the summer camp for girls which the Highland Park and Lake Forest Y. W. C. A.s have ‘been conducting at Druce Lake, ilo.ed _for the season on Monday, mellow, more sympathetic of the others‘ mental attitude. We look back into history and we are glad that we have advanced as far as we haveâ€"not toward the millenium, for that never comes, but in the direction of better education, more universal adaption of the golden rule, less thought of self and more of the needs of humanity. The world war inspired many exâ€" amples of patriotic devotion.
