â€" The Triâ€"Muâ€"clubâ€"classâ€"and the Alâ€" ethia class of girls have been having a contest over membership,â€"class and church attendance, etc., and, as usual im such matters the girls won. The boys gave them a "party" last Wedâ€" nesday night at which over 40 memâ€" beyond a small child lying on a palâ€" let; beyond a burying place toward ‘which youngâ€"men are carrying the body of a widow‘s only son; and forth from a sepulcher, the door of which had been sealed. af® Highland Park Methodist Church North Avenue at Lauretta Place â€"Rev. â€"F. â€"D._Hopkins, Minister The Woman‘s Foreign Missionary society‘s Thank Offering service last Sunday morning was a most interestâ€" ingâ€"service and well attended. Mrs. Chas.: Boyd,; the president of the soâ€" ciety, presided, Mr. A. W. Vercoe offered the prayer, the former pastor, Rev. W. â€"B. Doble, led the reading of the Psalter, Mrs. Isabel Diehl, of Michigan, wife of a former Methodist minister of this conference, read the New Testament lesson and Mrs. Okey sang a beautiful solo. The sermon was by Rev. Dr. Braden, of the faâ€" culty of N. W. university, a former missionary to South America, and wasâ€" an unusually ~interesting disâ€" course. â€" The Thank Offering was a very generous one and the members of the society felt much gratified with their efforts. 3 * So recently have we had the reiterâ€" ation, in many ‘tongues and from many viewpoints of the Easter messâ€" age, that it is hardly necessary to do more than to say that Christ pointed, and looking we see: A road leading _Christ also deals with mental probâ€" lems and â€"we find: Him looking at people who think that they have come to the end of knowledge. Those who feel that they can go no further beâ€" cause. of mystery;â€"and ~thoseâ€"who think that they need go no further because of perfection of knowledge. To both groups alike Christ points out a road that leads beyond. â€"In one case through mystery; and in the other past certainty of knowledge into a new and better understanding. The .same groups persist today, there being those who feel that the mystery isâ€"too deep, making theâ€"goâ€" ing <blind work; and thoge who féel that they have come to such a perfecâ€" tion of knowlefdge that there is nothâ€" ing more to. be learned. The teachâ€" ings of Christ are still appropriate to. both conditions, for beyond mysâ€" tery is light, and beyond mental selfâ€" satisfaction is the call of the open road. ~ â€" : o s.x We give new names today to old elements. ~And there are many words and phrases that are current which under Analyzation reveal an unpleasâ€" ant and an unholy disease which once was called sin. What this element does, no matter by what name it is called, is to, paint searingly deepâ€"on the ‘hearts of people, letters which spell the words.‘"Thisâ€"Street.
