We 'left Sunset Park at 9:00 a. m. Much excitement prevailed in the bus/when the water' in the radiator started to boil and splashed like a fountain over the windshield. At 10:30 we reached Lincoln Park where. we stayed an hour-and. let,""', the animals. The girls and _ oys enjoyed themselves' by riding horseback. The children were not allowed to feed the mon/ keys but could feed the bears. The) bears..would stand up on two legs to catch the nuts. At 11:30 we left Lincoln Park and reaehedrthe Field Museum at 12 o'eloek. We. ate our lunch in the Ittnehroo'rn. [On the'way back .we got lost. We m’the mum- mics and the tstaffed elephants. A few of the girls touched the elephants when the guards were not looking. My! How' funny they felt. Some of This has beisnVvery happy sea- son for all who were connected with the playgrounds. It is felt, that a lot has been accomplished .in the way of putting the playgrounds on a, more established foundation. One thing which has been laekintrat Sun- set Park is the, lack “of interest by the older youths-of the community. Mr. thing and Mr. 1)rosrn,.repris1sent, inithe East Park tistAet are ’will- ing to " anything that will bring the girls. and boys of high school age to the park. . V i V T Next year let us try to take ad- vantage. of the opportunities which the East Park Poard affords. . l Our Bus‘Trip . i Helen Titman and Lorraine Zimmer Evening" Program __ I In the evening beginning at 7:30 the pregram will begin. The main feature 'of the evening will be the tumbling by the Sunset girls. Their performance will take place on the bowling" greens. This is the first season any of the girls have ever had any tumbling at all.' They. have been very interested in it. This is. very evident by the high degree to which they have perfected their skill; There, will be headstands, baekbends,' hand-) stands and all kinds' of combinations. There will also be pyramids end group stunts. One of the most -pdp- ular cot theseis the “Snake.” Come and seejt. " The Ravinis children‘will put on a trviisurpiariee, ioraitet and several, Stunts. The evening will end with lk presentation " awards and medals; l 7 _ _" , tions pf these colors. The pride of the exhibition is the leather work. Leather' pocket books, biljfolds. and change purses are very carefully worked upon. First' the girl must make her own design on tracing paper which is then retraced on the leather. Tooling of this design into the leather requires patience as well as the pasting in of the lining and of the lacing. After the (lacing the tooling is carefully mixed and kept, for exhibition. Each girl who has a) pocket book on display is extremely proud of her ability to complete this difficult piece of,, handiwork. A sim- ilar amount will be displayed by Ra- vinia. All are asked to bring their suppers and make the day a happy picnic day. _ PLAYGROUND CURING PROGRAM ON FRIDAY ( Co'ntinued from page '2) Obi; '1JT..LI:II.".: 15mm}. I: w! In“. In- his. I- 'e...
