A hundred and one things have to be remembered and done in connection with a fiâ€" nancée .campaign. Committees must be formed for initial gifts, campaign publicity, budgeting for the coming year, bringing the files upâ€"toâ€"date, getting together the materials for the workers, planning < the ~means through which workers may make theit reports easily, ‘and auditing the reports as they come in. But the committee of most vital importâ€" ance is the one responsible for enlistâ€" ing team captainsâ€" and helping those captains get together their teams of workers. x 3 > It is rarely that the women . of Highland .Park shirk or offer the plea that they have not the time for this soliciting in behalf of the Y. W. C: A. but their modesty and timidity They know our drive for money 18 on during the week of October 28â€"to November 2. They are prepared to do their bit to promo! te the growth of the Y. W. W. C. A. and was just about to phone the secretary to ask why someâ€" one had not been here." That one gift given in such a beautiful spirit ~sent ~that ~worker on herâ€"wa ith her heart singing merrily within her. So the soliciting is not as disagreeâ€" able a task as we think it is before we do it.. And this year we have a greater _ incentive _ for _enthusiasm ;mong our supporters than ever beâ€" ore. * * a hive of industry and a home for the girl seeking friends,. â€" Nothing shows up the mom%i_nhgcnï¬ of any association as much as cold, hard The expangion of the work has been phenominal. T. R.: Murfey, viceâ€"presiâ€" dent of the Y. W. C. A. board of diâ€" rectors has bravely consented to take upon her shoulders the burdens â€"of chairman for the Anpual Maintenâ€" ance campaign. Having been elected to this responsible position by : the unanymous vote of the members of the board, Mrs. Murfey, knowing the difficulties ‘ahead of her, has shown her courage and her faithfullness to Highland Park‘s Y. W. C. A. by acâ€" cepting this office of campaign chairâ€" man. : : o â€" In the past years the association ‘has had the assistance of a finance director from na n New York City. â€" These directors have been a great help and we have appreciated their efforts to put our campaign "over the top." But a naâ€" tional .director . is. a great added exâ€" ‘are attempting to : ave fighland Park when we place Mrs. Murfey at the head of this drive with no director to assist her._ Her assistance will have to come from the ‘people of Highland Park and especially from the Â¥. W. C: A. board of directors. Many citizens of our town have felt â€"that there is a woman in Highland Park capable enough to direct the Annual drive without having to imâ€" port help from New York. A. done _ with all the money it cleared through that sale?" It seems only fair that every citizen should know what has <been done with the money. Of course, part: of it was used to purchase, add to, and renovate the present building. The remainderâ€" which happens to be exâ€" actly $26,000 is invested in the Trust department of the Chicago Title and Trust company which pays the Y. W. C. A. 5% per cent interest on the inâ€" vestment, It is a trust fund for the Highland Park Y. W. C. A. and we hope that no emergency: will ever make the association have to break up this fund. We only wish that it could be large enough to bring in an income which would run the Y. W. C. A. so that no one would feel the strain on his or her pocketbook at campaign time. . i sA 4 * mw of â€"directors at the association buildâ€" ing.
