. 28, 1999 we are glad we have one who thinks enough of the "Y" to compose a poem about it so we are going to publish it for : everyenc.â€"tommend. â€" W e â€"hopeâ€"tha author will forgive a few changes in wording here and there in correcting the matter. : Deerfield G. R. On November 20 the Deerfield Girl Reserve club day came on the day that Miss Verry was telling us about Japan. So 22 of the Deerfield girls came in to enjoy her and her pictures. that the song was written as the well wisher sat on the train between here and Chicago. The publicity chairâ€" man admitsâ€"that she is no detective A very mysterious letter came to the publicity chairman in the mail one day recently containing a poem from our Y.W.C.A. At the end of theâ€"poem a phrase was found "By Miss Verry dressed Myra Jane Hutâ€" ton in the proper way for a Japanâ€" ese girl to dress. If you think it is a simple process, you should have been there to witness it and learn how mistaken you are. We‘re sure an American girl .would need a perâ€" sonal maid to dress her. â€"Theâ€"evening attendanceâ€"wasâ€"not so large as the afternoon one had been, but those of us who were there felt that through Miss Verry we have gotâ€" ten a much clearer viewpoint about and are able to understand much betâ€" ter our Japanese neighbors, about whom we so often get a distorted and completely wrong picture through the medium of our moving picture shows at â€"our theaters;> xecmamcoules an hour by Miss Verry‘s wonderful pictures and true stories of the Japâ€" anese and their country. If you have seen the cherry trees at cherry time in our national capital, you will have some idea of Japan‘s beauty when the cherry trees, native of Japan and â€" growing â€"wild â€"overâ€"theâ€"country side, bloom. i nctaiant dMcicabebrtnented The pictures of the f:eoplc Were as interesting as the beautiful scenes.
