The library property, recently ex- tended by adding 60 feet on the west, now comprises a tract 185 feet on Laurel avenue and about 260 feet in depth. With the Park board in pos- session of that portion of the block between the library and St. Johns avenue, the city will be assured of I beautiful area, 276 feet by 250, suit. ably landscaped and occupied by but one building, the public library, which will be placed in a rightly loca- tion a little west of the present build. ing. Gnrnett is the chairman. also with the library staff. that the building may be not only beautiful but adapted in the highest degree possible to the purpose it is to serve. The program which Ossoli has planned for her members and their truists at the annual meeting, April 22, is to be an unusually interesting affair. PLAN NEW BUILDING Foe PUBLIC LIBRARY This week the Press shows upon its cover page a drawing of the new public library building, and during the present season contacts are to be let and work begun upon the struc- ture which Will be located upon the present library site. This public improvement, added to the adjoining new city hall site and building, will contribute in a large way to the more beautiful Highland Park in which all our citizens are interested. A second prize and an honorable mention were the awards received by the local organization. The exhibits were as follows: "A Garden Gate," designed by Mrs. Crossman. This exhibit was awarded honorable mention. it was designed for an apartment roof and various levels were shown with a picture of sky forming the background.
