Thursday, April 24, 1930 Whose Who at Convention New Yorkâ€"Mrs. Robert E. Speer and Mrs. Arthur Curtiss James are among the New York women going to the Y. W. C. A. national biennial convention to be held in Detroit, April 25thâ€"May 1st. All in the party are members of the National board of the Y, W. C. A., and many hold posts as officers. Officers attending from New York are: Mrs. Robert E. Speer, president; Mrs. John French, chairâ€" man exccutive committee; Mrs. John Huston Finley, first viceâ€"president; Mrs. George B. Ford, third viceâ€"presâ€" ident; Miss Katharine Lambert, secâ€" retary; Mrs. Samul Murtland, treasâ€" urer; and Mrs. William Hencken, asâ€" sistant treasurer. Others in the party will be Mrs. Lewis H. Lapham, Mrs. George J.‘ Anderson, Mrs. Ray P. Stevens, Miss: Katharine Olcott, Mrs. Philip LeBoutilliee and Mrs. E. C. Carter. Highland Park Delegates Mrs. E. T. R. Murfey, Mrs. Myron Rybolt, Mrs. W. A. Alexander, and Mrs. Lydia V. Hutton drove to Deâ€" troit Wednesday to attend the Y. W. C. A. National convention, April 25 to May 1. Mrs. Wilson Kline had planned to attend, but due to the illâ€" ness of her mother was unable to atâ€" tend. B. Y.‘s Club The B. Y.‘s gave their annual dance Wednesday evening. It was well atâ€" tended.â€" The music was unusually good and all attending declared it a "perfect evening." Friendship Club ‘ The Friendship club had their regâ€" ular meeting Thursday evening. and reports from the proceeds of the Style show were made. . The next meeting will be May 8. This is a surprise meeting. Those in charge of the meetâ€" ing say you can‘t afford to miss it. "What do you suppise it is?" Come and find out. Girl Reserve News The Girl Reserve hike Saturday, April 26 had to be postponed as so many advisers were out of town, due to the spring vacation. A later date will be set and announcement will be made in your club. % Young Business Women 3 The Young Business Women met at the association on Thursday eveâ€" ning for their regular supper meetâ€" ing. The supper committee, Grace McClure, Dorothy Simpson, Marâ€" guerite Noerenberg, Velma Bridges and Ethel Kreh had prepared a bounâ€" tiful supper in keeping with the Lenâ€" ten season. The table decorations were appropriate sfor Easter time. There were several new girls present, The program committee, Cora Henâ€" dee, Bernice Ginter and Lola Robinâ€" son provided an interesting program. Mrs. Grundy spoke on the topic of "The Business. Girls Finance Proâ€" gram." There was much interesting discussion. Following this period the following officers were installed. Grace McClure, president; Gayle Borâ€" nemann, vice president; Emily Marks, secretary; Ethel Kreh, treasurer. The club have decided upon the name Pi Delta, and a committee has been named to investigate the matter Y. W. C. A. Notes of club pins. Gayle Bornemann heads the committee. Alice Marks volunteered to serve as head of the supper committee for May 1. She will choose her own comâ€" mittee. Miss Hendee is chairman of the program committee, and the meeting promises to be an interesting one. This club is for the young Business Women of the community. Woman Hurt in Auto © Crash Near Here Dies Mrs. Selma Hermanson, 49 years old, of 623 Lincoln avenue, Waukegan, died last Thursday in the County hosâ€" pital as the result of injuries received on April 4, when the automobile in which she was riding was in a colliâ€" sion with another car at the intersecâ€" tion of Waukegan and Half Day roads just north of Deerfield.
