The closing exercises of the Daily Vacation Bible school of. the First United Evangelical church were held on Wednesday evening, July 2. The portions of scripture recited by the boys and girls, their answers to quesâ€" tions on Bible history, the songs so heartily sung and the splendid disâ€" play of handwork, proved that both in attendance and effort the term had been a most successful one. The school was supervised by the pastor, Rev. C. G. Unangst. The outâ€"ofâ€"town teachers were the Misses Margaret Phelps and Mildred Beckman, from the Moody Bible Institute of Chiâ€" cago. Others assisting were, Mrs. F. Botker, Mrs. Alvin Raedeke, and the Misses Kathleen Paine, Hedwig Gieâ€" serâ€"and Irene Daggitt. Miss Paine also presided at the piano. Mrs. Henry Maechtle assisted during the first week and then Miss Rosalis Fosbender came in and helped the remainder of the time. Mr. Chas. Thorsen rendered service of inestimâ€" able value in his class of manual training for the boys. ~Miss Emma ‘Gieser made liberal use of her autoâ€" mobile in bringing some of the teachâ€" ers to the school and again in conâ€" veying them ‘to their homes.
