Track Meet at Soldier‘s Field, August 27th America‘s supremacy in ‘the track and field sport which was seriously threatened in the Olympic games at Amsterdam in 1928 will be put to a still further test in the fourth reâ€" newal of the games , between the British Empire and the United States‘â€"to be‘held at Soldiers Field in Chicago, August 27th. This imect, since‘ its inception in 1920,. has come to be regarded as the outstanding event of its kind in the world with the exception of the Olympic gameés. . Both nations marâ€" shall their greatest track stars for the occasion and the resultant races provide competition of the highest order. The first meet was held following the Olympic games of 1920 at Lonâ€" don under the auspices of the Achilles club. â€"The events consisted largely ol relay‘ races to promote the spirit of team ¢ompetition and the scoring system used was to count one point for each event won. Under this sysâ€" tem the meet resulted in a tie. So successful was the meet that it was. repeated fo‘lowing the Olymâ€" pic games of 1924 and 1928, resultâ€" ing in victory for the United States by scores of 11 to 3 and 8 to 6 reâ€" spectively. .
