NORTH SHORE DAY MI FORT SHERIDAN CAMP Highland Park and Lake Forest Representatives Are Among Guests; Features Thursday, Aue. 7, was observed as "North Shore Day" at the Citizens' Military Training camp now in ses- sion at Fort Sheridan. The day was beautiful, warm and full of sunshine. The many guests found much to see, especially as the 1930 students show more advancement than usual after only a week in camp. At 9:30 am. a salute of 13 guns was fired for the arrival of Brier dier General Edward L. King who made an informal inspection of camp and personnel during the day, Thursday, August 14, 1930 Several other dignitaries were present from north shore cities and witnessed the exercises and athletic events and. ceremonies whieh were held throughout the day. Among them were Mayor William Moulton of Winnetka, with his daughter; Ma. jor Adam R. Weeks "6lith Cavalry) of Lake Bluff; Paul L. Udell, repre- senting the city of Highland Park; Alderman. Inspect Camp Every detail of the facilities of the camp was thoroughly inspected and the visitors expressed themselves as being greatly pleased with the candi- tion of the camp, the progress of the boys and the cordial treatment re- ceived at the hands of their hosts. Moose Lodge to Hold Celebration Saturday, August .Members of Highland Park lodge No. 446 Loyal Order of Moose will hold their 10th nniversary celebra- tion on Saturday evening August 30, 8 pm. at the Witten hall. A splendid program has been arranged and the committee in charge have been work- ing hard to make this celebration one long to be remembered. This will be for members only but all members or emoat earnestly urged to attend. Among one of the features of the evening will be a brief out line of the history of the local lodge which will be given by one of our past dictators.
