Nw Location for the | Marshall Field Store _ | in Lake Forest Soon | The Lake Forest store of Marshall Field and company, pioneer of the suburban Chicago stores opened by the big retail institution, will move into greatly enlarged quarters next Spring as the result of a 10â€"year lease, just negotiated, by which the store will take over the space now occupied by the First National Bank of Lake Forest and the North Shore Gas company. Thursday, October 2, 1930 The new quarters are in an attracâ€" tive modern building owned by the Lake Forest Improvement association on the corner of Market square. and Bank lane, the building occupying a commanding position at the head of the square. Result of Growth The necessity for much larger quarters for the Lake Forest store of Marshall Field and company is the result of the rapidly increasing busiâ€" ness of this north shore branch, acâ€" cording to Ronald P. Boardman, manâ€" ager of suburban stores of Marshall Field and company. "The Lake Forest branch has helped fill a longâ€"felt want for a community store carrying the quality of merchanâ€" dise that Lake Forest customers would expect to find in a Marshall Field and company store," Mr. Boardâ€" man said. . "Opened as an : infants‘ and children‘s apparel shop, the store has grown rapidly and consistently until the business demanded larger quarters, which we have now proâ€" vided." The new quarters for the Lake Forâ€" est store are almost four times as large as the present space. The new store will be redecorated and furâ€" nished and will be thoroughly modern in its merchandising fixtures. Field‘s will occupy the new space about March or April, according to present plans. With the expansion of floor space, the merchandise lines carried in the Lake Forest store also will be enâ€" larged. _ Fashionable apparel _ for misses‘ and young matrons‘ together with all dress accessories will be carâ€" ried, as well as a wide selection â€" of infants‘, girls‘ and boys‘ apparel nnd‘ accessories.â€" The accessory lines to be added include hosiery, gloves, | handkerchiefs, scarfs, handbags, belts, costume jewelry, perfumes, millinâ€" ery, shoes, lingerie, negligees, underâ€" garments, maids‘ uniforms and aprons. A line of athletic goods for | boys will be carried and next to the | Boys Own Room on the lower floor, which may be reached by a stairway leading from the entrance, will be play yard equipment, slides, w-ding' pools and gym apparatus.
