Assistant Scoutmaster Pratt opened the meeting by leading the troop in the opening exercises. Mr. Horn then gave a short talk. The business of the troop was discussed by Scoutmaster Beets. Then the boys reviewed the Tenderfoot tests and had some signal instruction and marching drill under the leadership of Assistant Scoutmaster Pratt and Senior Patrol Leader ‘Poiner. â€" Scout Poiner led the troop in the closing The number of boys who attended last week‘s meeting did not come up to expectations. It was started as an ordinary American Legion meeting. Mr. Rasmussen acted as a chairman of the meeting. The first number on the program was given by Mr. Robert Piric, a big game hunter, who had some moâ€" tion pictures and slides which showed the wild life of Africa. Next, there were. the boys who played baseball on ‘the American Legion team for the past season. . "Tisser" Linderâ€" holm, one of the four boys from Lake Forest who had been with the C. M. T. C. during the past summer, won the badge for marksmanship given by the American Legion. Last on the program were the scout stunts of the various troops. Troop 48 initiated some of the boys into the Royal Order of Engineers. Troop 45 put on a boxing match in which Jack Whalen and Harry Smith were the victims.â€"Waino Newman, editor in chief Lake Forest Press club. Several new district editors have heen selected for the Boy Scout Press club. .
